An email from my mom who watched Wes and Will this last weekend while Brandon and I headed off to YCL Retreat and Scout Camp.
Just goes to show how sweet they really are even though they are testing our patients constantly. Children want and need our love especially when it doesn't seem like they deserve it.
Its these tender moments that bring us back to the reason we are here on earth and what we are working toward. Isn't it funny how we are reminded of that through the innocence of a 3 year old. I love my kids and my family and I want to live with them for eternity.
So I just wanted to share something that Wes and I talked about yesterday. We were on the front porch. I was rocking Will and feeding him and Wes was busy in the flowers etc. He was talking about the bird bath and said, "Jesus made the birds". And I said yes. Then he saw a bee and said, "Jesus made the bees too!" We talked about some of the other creations in nature that Jesus had made. Then he said, "He made the whole world and we love Him." We talked about Jesus for a few more minutes and then he said, "I want to live with Jesus again with my mom and dad and Will because we are a family." I was so touched. This small boy, who is so full of life is also able to feel spiritual things and to recognize true teachings. He then said, "And with you and grandpa and Grandma Max and Grandpa Kris." He has such love and understanding for a three year old. Families are worth fighting for. I just wanted to share this because it has impacted me and I want to do and be better because of the simple faith of that sweet little boy. He taught me again how much my family means to me and how important families are. A beautiful moment on a beautiful Spring day. A really special grandma moment. I put it in my journal and hope to never forget it.
